Zero Foodprint Launches Restore NW pilot program
At Zero Foodprint, we’re on a mission to combat climate change by rallying the food and beverage industry in support of regenerative agriculture. Through small donations across the food system, we’re able to fund farm projects that draw carbon straight from the atmosphere and store it underground, creating nutrient-rich soil and increasing resilience to extreme weather.
The results? Our efforts have already paved the way for an expected reduction of over 97,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide (CO2e) - but we’re just getting started.
The Restore NW Pilot Program
Zero Foodprint teams up with businesses across the food system to fund regenerative farming practices that build healthy soil and sequester carbon. With the help of our member businesses and individual donations, we provide grants to farmers and ranchers to bring the next regenerative practice to the next acre. We currently distribute Restore Grants in California and Colorado, and with your help, we'll be able to launch Restore Grants in the Northwest!
Our expanded grant program will give Northwest farmers the resources they need to implement practices that improve soil health, restore the climate, and grow more nutritious foods. Along with Tillamook Creamery, Bob's Redmill, and Organically Grown Co., Zero Foodprint has partnered with New Seasons Market to make this pilot program possible. This year, New Seasons shoppers will have the opportunity to see how regenerative foods can change the world for good. Throughout April 2024, the grocery chain will highlight products from participating brands who have committed to donating a portion of sales to launch our work in the Northwest.
Zero Foodprint’s work on these projects is also funded in part by a USDA Conservation Innovation Grant in partnership with Mad Agriculture.
Funding the first Restore NW Farm Projects
Zero Foodprint has successfully funded over a hundred projects through our Restore CO and Restore CA grants - and Restore NW is next. We’re currently in the pilot phase of this program, which means we’ve begun early work with a few select farm projects. We hope to open Restore NW grant applications for farms in 2025.
To scale our impact in the Northwest, we need the support of member businesses and individuals like you. Small donations add up to a big impact - even modest recurring donations make it possible for everyone to restore the climate together.
