SK Dynasty

A new American dream

One grounded in environmental stewardship and ripe with hope for the future.

An immigrant-owned pistachio orchard lead by the family matriarch who is inspiring other women in her community to break into farming.

This grant made it possible for SK Dynasty to apply compost to 73 acres of orchard so that new pistachio trees would more easily take root.

Supreet’s progressive farming practices raised eyebrows among local farmers, but when floods came and hers was the only land not under a foot of water, others began taking note. “They all come talk to me and get excited…I tell them you’re not only helping your farm, you’re helping the environment, that’s the most important thing I want to educate them on”

Their compost project is expected to sequester 1,057 tons of CO2e over three years, but that’s just the beginning. Pistachios trees require less water than almond trees and have four times the lifespan, meaning they could continue to sequester carbon and produce nuts for up to 80 years.
